At around 2:00 pm on the 9th, a 6.1 magnitude earthquake occurred in the eastern waters of Taiwan, China. The maximum earthquake intensity is 3 magnitude in Yilan County, Hualien County, Xinbei City, Taipei City and Taidong County
On the 9th, several Taiwan media reported that the 6.1 Richter scale earthquake occurred at 2:23 pm this (9th) day, with a depth of 27.5 km. The epicenter was 89.5 km east of Hualien County Government (located in the eastern waters of Taiwan, China, China), and the maximum earthquake intensity was 3 magnitude in Yilan County, Hualien County, Xinbei City, Taipei City, and Taidong County.
Fortunately, all three major science parks have stated that their operations have not been affected and there have been no incidents of disaster damage.
The Hsinchu Science Park Management Bureau stated that there are six science parks under the jurisdiction of the Hsinchu Science Park, including Hsinchu, Zhunan, Tongluo, Longtan, Yilan, and Hsinchu Biomedical Park. Currently, it has been confirmed that the water and power supply in the parks are normal, and the manufacturers are operating normally without any losses.
The Central Science Park Management Bureau stated that the maximum seismic intensity in the central region is level 2, and the overall operation of the park is not affected. The Southern Science Park Management Bureau pointed out that the seismometer readings in Tainan are level 2 and Kaohsiung is level 1, and the manufacturers in the Tainan and Kaohsiung parks under its jurisdiction have not been affected.
