A fuel dispenser is a liquid volume measurement system used to add fuel to motor vehicles, which can have functions such as IC card refueling and oil and gas recovery. Fuel dispensers used for domestic oil trade settlement should have tax control and anti fraud functions. The current plan is to use a photoelectric encoder and a monitoring microprocessor to cooperate with each other. When refueling, the microprocessor compares the oil quantity data sent by the encoder ciphertext with the oil quantity data sent by the metering party to see if it exceeds the allowable accuracy range. If it exceeds the error range, record relevant information and display it, and the microprocessor will prohibit the fuel dispenser from refueling. However, based on the safety requirements of the fuel dispenser system, it is necessary to design an explosion-proof, cheating proof, fully sealed encoder device that can work in harsh oil and gas environments, which limits the application of photoelectric encoders.
The Avago AEAT-6600-T16 magnetic encoder has a resolution of up to 16 bits and can perform precise angle measurements within a 360 degree range. Applying magnetic technology to motion control and remote sensing activities can achieve non-contact operation without mechanical wear and tear. This encoder is a system level chip that integrates integrated Hall elements, analog front-end, and digital signal processing functions in a single device. With this high integration, the encoder has built-in programmable capabilities for customizable encoder settings, greatly saving customers encoder inventory. AEAT-6600-T16 can work in harsh oil and gas environments and meet the design requirements of explosion-proof, anti cheating, and fully sealed fuel dispensers. This article provides a brief introduction to AEAT-6600-T16.
1、 AEAT-6600-T16 Magnetic Encoder
1. Introduction to Features
AEAT-6600-T16 is equipped with absolute encoder function and incremental encoder function. The absolute encoder function can be selected from four resolutions of 10, 12, 14, and 16 bits, including conditions such as right/left turns. Users can use the OTP (one time programmable) function to set it. The incremental encoder function can use the OTP function to set 8 resolutions and 4 origin signal widths. Four working modes can be set by setting different combinations of ALIGN, PROG, and PWRDOWN pins, as shown in the following figure.
AEAT-6600-T16 integrates Hall elements, analog front-end, and digital signal processing functions, with two modules: absolute encoder and incremental encoder. The structural diagram is as follows.
2. Output signal
After programming different working modes, AEAT-6600-T16 can output the following four pulse signals:
2.1. SSI signal output
2.2 ABI signal output
2.3 UVW signal output
2.4 PWM signal output
