Introduction: On December 7th, GigaDevice (stock code 603986), a leading semiconductor device supplier in the industry, announced the official launch of the new GD32A490 series high-performance automotive grade MCU. With advantages such as high main frequency, large capacity, high integration, and high reliability, it closely meets the needs of automotive electronic development and is suitable for BCM body control systems such as windows, wipers, smart car locks, and electric seats, as well as intelligent cockpit systems such as instrument panels, entertainment, and central control navigation.
The GD32A490 series automotive grade MCU continues to leverage its local supply chain advantages, adopting mature and complete automotive process technology. Product development and production management have passed the IATF 16949:2016 certification of the automotive industry quality system, meeting the AEC-Q100 automotive grade reliability and safety standards, and have the ability to produce static electricity protection and anti-interference. Capable of reliably operating under high-risk conditions such as extreme temperatures, electromagnetic interference, and vibration, to cope with harsh conditions and complex tasks in vehicle driving environments.
GD32A490 series vehicle grade MCU adopts Arm ® Cortex ®- M4 core, running at a main frequency of up to 240MHz, equipped with up to 3072KB on-chip Flash and 768KB SRAM. Supports zero wait for code execution, with performance up to 355 DMIPS. It also integrates rich peripheral resources, providing up to 4 USART and 4 UART, 3 I2C, 6 SPI, and 2 I2S, with USART supporting communication and transmission with LIN.
To meet the application requirements of the vehicle gateway, it also supports 2 CAN2.0B, 100M Ethernet, and USB2.0 FS/HS communication. On chip integration of TFT LCD controller and various multimedia interfaces, suitable for diversified scenarios such as in car central control, entertainment audio and video, instrument panel, etc.
The GD32A490 is equipped with three 12 bit high-speed ADCs with a sampling rate of up to 2.6M SPS and two 12 bit DACs to support vehicle motor control. Up to 140 GPIOs can achieve multi load control of BCM modules. This series of MCU offers two packaging options, BGA176 and LQFP144, and four model options. It has been officially produced and supplied.
The launch of GD32A490 further expands the product lineup of GD32A series automotive MCU. Thanks to the rich and complete ecosystem of the GD32 family, users can develop vehicle level projects using existing GD32 debugging and production tools, technical documents, software and hardware platforms. The accompanying GD32A490I-EVAL full function evaluation board and GD32A490Z-START entry-level learning kit are also launched simultaneously.
