According to data from the Shenzhen Semiconductor Industry Association, in 2021, the main business revenue of the integrated circuit industry in Shenzhen exceeded 140 billion yuan, ranking among the top in the country. Among them, the revenue of the integrated circuit design industry exceeded 70 billion yuan.
The Shenzhen Special Zone News reported that Shenzhen is the distribution center, application center, and design center of China's semiconductor and integrated circuit products. In recent years, the integrated circuit industry has maintained a rapid development trend. Especially with the steady development of emerging technologies such as 5G, artificial intelligence, new energy vehicles, the Internet of Things, and intelligent manufacturing, the strength of Shenzhen's integrated circuit design industry continues to strengthen.
Taking Nanshan District as an example, according to Chang Junfeng, Secretary General of the Shenzhen Semiconductor Industry Association, Nanshan District currently gathers nearly 50% of the city's design enterprises, including ZTE Microelectronics, Bit Microelectronics, National Microelectronics, Ming Microelectronics, Zhongke Lanxun, Zhongwei Semiconductor (Shenzhen), Guomin Technology, Depu Microelectronics, Ziguang Tongchuang, Biyi Microelectronics, and Yingjixin. It has a large number of high-quality design enterprises, including 11 listed design enterprises, 11 design enterprises with revenue exceeding 1 billion yuan, 11 design enterprises with revenue of 5-10 billion yuan, and 52 design enterprises with revenue of 100-500 million yuan.
At present, the integrated circuit industry ecosystem in Shenzhen is constantly improving, and the industrial agglomeration has begun to take shape. In June of this year, the Shenzhen Municipal Action Plan for Cultivating and Developing Semiconductor and Integrated Circuit Industry Clusters (2022-2025) proposed to accelerate the improvement of the integrated circuit design, manufacturing, packaging and testing industry chain, promote the development of key projects related to EDA tool software, semiconductor materials, high-end chips, and advanced manufacturing, promote the construction of key projects such as 12 inch chip production lines and third-generation semiconductors, and create a number of professional integrated circuit industry bases and industrial parks at a high level.
The Action Plan also points out that by 2025, the industry's revenue will exceed 250 billion yuan, forming three or more design enterprises with revenue exceeding 10 billion yuan and a group of design enterprises with revenue exceeding 1 billion yuan. The introduction and cultivation of three manufacturing enterprises with revenue exceeding 2 billion yuan will significantly improve the level of the integrated circuit industry and make the industrial structure more reasonable.
